The MSPE Program offers its students unique features not typically found in other traditional academic programs. The enrichment activities provide the students an opportunity to enhance their educational experience beyond the classroom. The cultural diversity of the MSPE students offers the chance to work with and learn from individuals from other countries, which will better prepare one to work in a global workplace.
Frequently Asked Questions
Tuition and fee payments are due on the 28th of each month. Tuition and fee charges for fall and spring terms are billed in September and February respectively. Summer term charges are billed in June and/or July depending on enrollment. Payment due deadlines are posted to the University Bursar website.

The MSPE Program is one of many cost recovery programs at Illinois. Students enrolled in cost recovery programs are not eligible for on-campus waiver-generating assistantships (e.g., teaching, researching, and graduate). MSPE students are eligible for on-campus hourly paid appointments. Hourly positions are posted to the Virtual Job Board located on the Financial Aid website.

The U of I Campus Recreation provides recreational programs, facilities, and services to the campus community. The Activities and Recreation Center (ARC) houses one of the largest on-campus recreation centers in the country. ARC features include a climbing wall, indoor/outdoor swimming pools, indoor track, four gymnasiums, racquetball courts, hundreds of exercise machines and weights, personal trainers, cooking classes, and wellness classes. The Campus Recreation Center East (CRCE) is a smaller recreation center on the east side of campus. CRCE features an aquatic center, indoor track, a gymnasium, racquetball courts, and exercise machines and weights. Campus also boasts the only Ice Arena in Champaign-Urbana, which offers public skating sessions, skating programs and clubs, and hockey programs.
Students can also participate in campus Intermural Activities, such as soccer, volleyball, basketball, and other sports.
The campus is a major Midwestern center for the arts. The Krannert Center for the Performing Arts offers theater, concerts, and ballet. The university’s Krannert Art Museum and Kinkead Pavilion is the second largest general fine art museum in the state of Illinois. The Spurlock Museum is both an education and a research institution, with approximately 45,000 objects in its artifact collection.
