After spending my freshman year in the Division of General Studies, I chose to major in Economics because of its combination and critical thinking and problem solving aspects. There is also a large variety of interesting career paths to choose from as an Economics major. In my free time, I enjoy shopping, doing yoga and spending time with my friends!

Hi, my name is Nyla Sommer! I am a senior pursuing a double major in Economics and Psychology with a minor in Business and Advertising. In high school, the two classes that interested me the most were psych and econ, so I decided to major in both. I have grown to appreciate the intersection of these subjects, learning about the driving forces in human behavior regarding different aspects of life. In my free time, I enjoy reading, thrifting, spending time with my friends and family, and recently I’ve taken up sewing!

Hi, I’m Luca, a junior at the University of Illinois studying Economics and Statistics. I love economics because it helps us use mathematics to explore the social sciences. This year I am looking forward to learning more about Econometrics as it combines economic theory with data analysis to test theories and predict real-world outcomes. Hi, I'm Pariza and I'm a junior studying a double major in Econometrics and Math. I chose economics because I love how it uses theories to explain every aspect of the economy. There is so much data to be analyzed and questions to be answered that I couldn't imagine not being interested in economics because of how complex the whole subject really is. In my spare time, I enjoy playing guitar and reading, especially fiction and fantasy novels. Lately, I've been spending a lot of time at cafes partly because the atmosphere is so cozy and partly because the caffeine addiction has gotten quite bad!
