On October 18, 2013, the "Econ Leaders" group, a select member of undergraduate students from the Economics Department, went on a field trip to the firms of William Blair and Dresner Partners in Chicago where they heard career and internship advice from several staff, including alumni from our department. This fieldtrip was escorted by Melissa Newell, lead Undergraduate Advisor for the department and Marsha Hatchel, Assistant Director of Alumni Relations and Outreach for the department.

Brian Marshall, an alum from Economics at the UI, is the Vice President-advisor for wealth protection and growth at William Blair & Company. Brian is a council member for the Economic Development Council that works in an advisory capacity to the Department of Economics.
