Daniel Nagashima

Danny joined the Department of Economics Undergraduate Team in August 2024. He advises undergraduate students on academic planning and extracurricular opportunities, ensuring students are informed about curriculum requirements, departmental events, and campus resources.

 

Danny received his Bachelor's at Soka University of America and Master's at the University of Southern California. He then went on to earn his Doctoral degree from the University of Virginia in Foreign Affairs. As a long-standing member of the UIUC community since 2015, Danny also serves as a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science, where he teaches courses on East Asian politics, internships, and political science. 

 

When he’s not teaching or advising, Danny enjoys spending time with family and friends and engages with his many hobbies, including photography, sewing, and gardening.
