After completing her MSPE Program in December 2017, Gloria went on to earn a Ph.D. degree in Economic Sciences, Financial Administration Concentration, at the Universidad de San Carlos in Guatemala in Fall 2021.
Gloria is working at the Banco de Guatemala, as an International Economics Expert in the Department of Macroeconomic Analysis and Forecasting. She is in charge of international economic analysis situation, economic analysis and reports, and monitoring of the behavior of economics and financial variables.
Gloria also works at the Universidad de San Carlos de Guatemala, Department of Economics, as an Associate Professor. She is teaching intermediate macroeconomics, advanced macroeconomics, and economic development.
In May 2022, Gloria was bestowed summa cum laude distinction in the Economic Sciences Ph.D. program from Universidad de San Carlos de Guatemala. In March 2023, she was awarded Outstanding Professional in the economics field from the College of Economists, Public Accountants and Auditors, and Business Administrators.
