Sean Raney

B.A. Economics, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign

Sean is Vice President of International Compensation Services for Cartus, responsible for continuing development of the International Assignment Compensation Services practice at Cartus. Responsibilities include managing the division’s P&L, revenue generation, performance management, and service satisfaction. Sean is responsible for subject matter expert support to our teams as well as supporting our global business model by managing new client transitions as they relate to expatriate outsourcing.

Additionally, Sean has previously held the positions of regional vice president of broker services, director, manager, field coordinator, resale specialist, and counselor for Cartus.

In 2004, Sean returned to Cartus after spending seven years with Ernst & Young, Global Employment Solutions, where he was director of global process optimization. Prior to E&Y, Sean spent 14 years at Cartus. Sean was an Illinois State Scholar and graduated with a BA degree in Economics from the University of Illinois in 1985. He currently serves as a board member on the University of Illinois Economics Development Council. He was also one of the inaugural members of Worldwide ERC® to earn the Global Mobility Specialist (GMS) designation. Additionally, in 2013, Sean earned his GMS-T designation.

Sean enjoys spending time in the outdoors with his wife and 2 sons, ages 21 and 22, when they are home from college. If Sean could do anything in the world, it would become a successful golf pro. Hobbies and interests include, golfing, camping, hunting, wine, cigars, sports of all kinds and most importantly – spending time with his family.
