The first field trip of Spring 2025 took place on Friday, February 28, with a visit to Springfield, IL. The day began with a highly engaging and informative presentation at the Illinois Office of Management and Budget (OMB). Ms. Alexis Sturm, Director of OMB, provided an overview of Illinois' budgeting process, covering both the operating and capital budgets during a 45-minute presentation, followed by an equally valuable 45-minute Q&A session. MSPE alumnus Michael Maynard (Class of 2023) also joined the session, sharing how the skills and training he gained in the program have directly contributed to his work at OMB. After lunch, students had the opportunity to visit and explore the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum.
