DEADLINE FOR APPLICATION

Deadline for application is April 1

OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS AND DEGREE CERTIFICATES

Applicants must submit original transcripts and degree certificates (when applicable) along with certified English translations if the records are in a language other than English. Credentials must be certified by an officer of the educational institution issuing the documents. These credentials must be uploaded in to the "Upload Credentials Here" section of your online application.

For documents not available at time of submission of online application, send them as an email attachment to mspe@illinois.edu.

Do not mail (through postal system or currier service) any transcripts or degree certificates to the MSPE Program, as they will not be accepted.

If granted admission, the Graduate College may require that final, official academic credentials be shown. The required documents will be detailed in the Graduate College official notice of admission letter. It is highly recommended that you bring the required credentials with you to campus; we will inform you where you are to take the documentation.

PERSONAL STATEMENT

Your statement should describe your reasons for pursuing this degree as well as your personal and professional goals.

LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION

Three letters of recommendation (accessed by clicking the "Recommendations" tab in the online application) from academic and/or business sources. Academic references should be from professors whose course(s) you have taken. Professional references should come from your work supervisor. Personal references and references from co-workers are not accepted.

TOEFL/IELTS SCORE REPORTS: INSTITUTION CODE - 1836 (INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS ONLY)

**See MSPE Program English Proficiency Requirements for Admission for more information.**

GRE SCORE REPORTS: INSTITUTION CODE - 1836

While GRE is not strictly required (except for students who want to be considered for the Ph.D. track), we do recommend that you take it and submit your score. Not submitting a GRE score will not harm your possibilities for admission, but submitting a good GRE score can help solidify your chances.

**Note that the home-edition GRE will NOT be accepted. Only take the regular GRE exam.**

If you chose to submit a GRE score, you can:

  1. request the Educational Testing Service (ETS) to send the score to the University of Illinois (use Institution Code 1836); or
  2. upload a copy in the "Upload IELTS Score Report" section of your online application; or
  3. send a copy as an email attachment to mspe@illinois.edu.

DECLARATION & CERTIFICATION OF FINANCES (INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS ONLY)

The Declaration & Certificate of Finances Form and Official Bank Statement should be uploaded into the "Upload Credentials Here" section of your online application.

For SEVIS/Visa-related questions, visit the Graduate College International Applicants website section or the International Student and Scholar Services website for additional information and resources for international students.
