Katie Kennealy, Associate Director of Career & Alumni Affairs

Katie oversees all of the career development and employer relations activities for the Department of Economics. While she has been with the department since 2015, she has been working in career services for the last 20+ years with the majority of that time being spent on the Illinois campus. In addition to meeting with students and employers, Katie facilitates both the ECON 198 (Economics at Illinois) and ECON 298 (Internships) courses for Economics students. Katie has a true passion for career services and is always looking for new and innovative ways to assist students in taking those next steps with experiences outside of the classroom.

Lily is the Coordinator for Career and Alumni Services in the Department of Economics. She is excited to advise and facilitate the ECON 198 (Economics at Illinois) and ECON 298 (Internships) courses, as a way to connect with students and support their career development!
Lily recently graduated from Northwestern University, where she earned a master’s in Higher Education Administration and Policy and a bachelor’s in Human Development in Context, along with minors in Latina/o Studies and Psychology. During her time at Northwestern, she worked at the career center as a career ambassador during undergrad and later as a career counseling intern. Lily also served as a graduate intern at the University of Chicago Career Advancement, where she assisted with advising for the 4+1 master’s pipeline program.
In her free time, Lily likes to weightlift, play with her two cats, listen to audiobooks, and watch anime. As a first-generation college graduate, Lily deeply appreciates the career guidance she received and is passionate about providing the same empathetic support to Economics students.

Laura is a second-semester master's candidate in human resources and industrial relations at the School of Labor and Employment Relations. She graduated in the spring of 2023 from ISU with a bachelor’s degree in human resource management and a minor in psychology. In her free time, Laura likes going to plays and musicals, spending time with her dogs, and hosting/attending game nights. Laura is super excited to support students within the economics department as they discover their passion and plan their career paths.

Jessica is a junior majoring in Econometrics and Quantitative Economics with minors in Business and Data Science. While at Illinois, she has been heavily involved in Illinois Business Consulting and the Albanian Student Association. In her free time, Jessica enjoys spending time with friends, cooking, and reading. She is really looking forward to being a resource for her fellow economic undergrads to help them grow professionally and reach their career goals!

Aadit is a senior majoring in statistics and economics with a minor in business. At Illinois, he has been involved with the Illinois Consulting Academy (ICA), Macro Investing Association (MIA), and the Career Center. In his free time, Aadit enjoys playing padel, watching basketball and soccer, and binge watching his favorite TV shows. He is excited to be a part of the Econ Career Services team and help students reach their goals!
