Advising Appointments

Appointment Options

We are happy to meet with students via zoom, a phone call or for an in-person appointment.

When detailing your appointment reason, please include your preference. An Advisor will send you a zoom invitation or call you at your scheduled time. Otherwise you will check in at DKH 214.

In-Person Appointment Guidelines

Please check-in at the front desk as close to your appointment time as possible, as seats in our waiting area are limited.

To Schedule an Appointment

  • Go to the Online Advising Calendar or copy & paste this link: https://go.illinois.edu/econappointment
  • Select 'Economics Advising Appointments
  • You may schedule an appointment with any available Econ Advisor
  • Make note of your scheduled time/day

Appointment Availability

New appointment times are opened frequently. During busy times, appointments may fill a week or more in advance, so we encourage students to plan ahead.
Appointments must be made 4 hours or more in advance.

Please make sure to only schedule one appointment at a time to allow appointments for other students.

During busy times, students must have declared Economics and will be limited to one appointment at a time (first two weeks of the semester, and during registration).

AdvisorsTosha

We allow students to decide which Academic Advisor they would like to meet with for advising, or to select an advisor based on availability. Students are not assigned to advisors in our Department, and you may change who you meet over time. Please note, advisor schedules vary and there may be a waiting period for a specific advisor.

Cancellations

Need to Cancel? Go into the system and cancel (up to 24 hours in advance) or email econug@illinois.edu. We ask that you cancel at least 12 hours in advance so we may provide the appointment time to another student.

Missed Appointments

Students who miss appointments without cancelling 12 hours in advance may be restricted from scheduling another appointment for a short period. Our advisors take time to prepare for your appointment, and sometimes our appointment times are booked for weeks, so we would like advanced notice to provide the time to another student.
