Students who meet certain requirements may graduate with Department of Economics Distinction. Every semester we have a small number of students who graduate with this honor, and these students are noted in our May ceremony program, and also invited to our undergraduate awards and recognition banquet in the Spring. Requirements
- 3.25 ILLINOIS GPA and a 3.5 ILLINOIS ECON GPA,
- complete a research project under the supervision of a faculty member in the Department of Economics (ECON 399 for at least 3 credit hours),
- present project at the annual Econ Research Symposium in the spring, and
- be recommended by the faculty member overseeing the ECON 399 to graduate with distinction.
